Organizational Transformation & Design Expert, Author

Emily Axelrod

Emily Axelrod has been a pioneer in the design of collaborative systems which enable leaders and workers to jointly construct a company both profitable and worthy of pride. Some have called her practices “organizational barn raising” because the focus and energy shown by participants reminds them of the old-time, community barn raisings, in which neighbors would erect a sturdy building in a weekend. We like that comparison.  When a company is focused, and its people work within a system that includes spirited involvement, remarkable things can occur.

Emily believes in stretching organizations so they can unleash their creativity and knowledge. Emily uses visioning, work redesign, team development, and good old common sense to build sustainable, fun, and collaborative enterprises. Emily co-authored You Don’t Have to Do It Alone, which the New York Times called, “The best of the current crop of books on this subject.” She is a contributing author to The Change Handbook, The Flawless Consulting Field Book, Future Search in School District Change, and numerous articles. She serves on the board of the Organization Design Forum. Emily brings her southern spirit and wit to everything she does.
